We are back to Teresa's fun photo meme Friday Hunt. For this week, the themes: Starts with 'H', Week's Favorite and Family
- Starts with H: How about Horse? These equines were seen in 2014 at Locket’s Meadow Farm in Bethany, Connecticut. This farm offers a refuge for formerly neglected and abused horses, and these were gentle giants. Yes, this one is happily taking a gift of turf grass from the little girl
- Week's Favorite: The always lovely Patti prepared a Valentine’s Day treat, homemade donuts! There is a difference in these pastries between the usual donut shop and these fabulous examples of fried dough, and what donut seller presents their holiday wares this nicely
- Family: I offer an oft used picture of our family on the first day of school 1996. Our daughter about to begin third grade, our son first grade, both at Mead School in Ansonia. We are at the bus stop, doting parents and our then cute (and now grown) kids…
I've never had homemade donuts but like anything else, I'm sure they taste superior to store bought.
ReplyDeleteI think it's wonderful there are places for abused animals to live in peace! I cannot imagine why anyone would want to abuse a gentle horse. Th homemade donuts look scrumptious and your kids were very lucky to have mom and da take them to the bus stop on the first day of school.
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures, Ralph. I love homemade donuts dipped in granulated sugar. And these are very pretty too, they look like the ones that my mom used to make. I love horses too, though there was a time when I swore all my horses in the future would be drinking gasoline. I Rodriguez a horse to high school my first two years, seemed then to be enough horses for me for a lifetime. Why are the ones, one eating the grass gift, wearing blinders of a sort?

Doughnuts - yummy.Love the family shot andof course the horses. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family photo! The donuts looks amazingly delicious. Beautiful horses. I hate to think of any animal being neglected, but it's nice these have found a caring home. Thanks so much for joining in Friday's Hunt.
ReplyDeleteI love horses. And donuts for that matter. It would be fun to sit and watch the horses while eating the donuts. That's a lovely family photo. When I was living in NJ where my brothers live I would always show up at the bus stops for my nieces' and nephews' firsts. I miss those events
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to reminisce about the days when our kids were little, isn't it?! I'd love to have a bite or two of those donuts too!
