Wordless Wednesday - Bold Autumnal Hues

Patti took a trip to Sunflower Farms nearby in Orange CT. On a rainy and dreary Fall day, the gray was  offset by the brilliant mums, so many colors. The perfect antidote to gray...See more WW with NC Sue

Wordless Wednesday - In Motion

Around the corner from our Ansonia CT home, the new Emmett O'Brien Technical High School was recently dedicated. This delta shaped view at dusk is interesting - my imagination sees the shape as taking off like a fighter plane or a speedy ship being towed out of the harbor. Either way, it feels like it's in motion...nice architecture! See more WW at NC Sue

Wordless Wednesday - Bounce House Patron

At Saturday's Harvest Festival in our small city of Ansonia, there was a bounce house with no shortage of children, and this girl showed a few acrobatic moves. The unending energy of youth is astounding to this old-timer...see more WW at NC Sue

Wordless Wednesday - Remembering 9-11

The terrible day in 2001 is remembered every year - the simply ceremony on the small town green of Derby CT. The fire department and others in the stood by the memorial with steel from Ground Zero by the twin towers and stones to remember Flight 93. The Code 5-5-5 is rung from a bell to commemorate the loss of the NYC firefighters and service providers - a poignant reminder of those who selflessly ran toward the danger...more WW can be found at NC Sue

Wordless Wednesday - The Clue

Sometimes we don't have to see the entire subject to get what it is. A mere clue may be all we need. Taken by my daughter in 2004 from a bus window in the City of Light...see more WW at NC Sue

Wordless Wednesday - Lego comes alive

At Ansonia's Rock the Valley 2016 Saturday, not only the Cast of Beatlemania and other music played numerous food trucks fed the thousands - there were many artists vendors too. Like these artisans who created Lego action figures. Cute, colorful and cool! See more WW at NC Sue

Wordless Wednesday - Summer's Harvest

The best of summer is here at the Farmers Market in our neighbor to the north, Seymour CT. Bon Appetite with seasonal traits from local farms...see NC Sue for more WW

Wordless Wednesday - Professional Dreamer

I like the theme Sue is using today - a flexible cat. Our Linus fills the bill (without even trying :)

Wordless Wednesday - The warmth of the sun way back when

Going through some old files I found this web preserved print from the summer of 1998. The sunflowers next to the split-rail fence were the ideal yard decorations of our then next-door neighbor. Alas, times change, people move and sunflowers wither away...See more WW here...

Wordless Wednesday -

For July 4, we see the American flag, resplendent in its red, white and blue hue placed upon the equally resplendent barn at the Jones Family Farm Winery nestled in the White Hills of Shelton CT...see more WW at NCSue

Wordless Wednesday - Aerobatics on Wheels

Our city of Ansonia held its Pierre Lallement Bicycle Festival on Saturday. The Eastern Action BMX stunt team performed on Main Street. This rider was taken at the same time from two different perspectives - Patti and myself. He really sees to float through the air with the greatest of ease...see more WW at NC Sue!

Wordless Wednesday - Capturing the Chevy (and myself)

At the Fathers' Day car show at the Shelton History Center, I was taken by this great 1951 Chevrolet pickup, its beautiful colors and the chrome hubcaps - that highlight the photographer...see more at NC Sue

Wordless Wednesday - Defying Gravity (and sense?)

These BMX stunt riders seem to ignore gravity as they float through the air with the greatest of ease (sort of), while performing at Seymour (CT) Middle School. Cooler than cool! See more WW at NC Sue!

Wordless Wednesday - Ironclad

Knight "Sir Lunch-A-Lot." stands guard in Seymour (CT) Middle School, usually in the cafeteria - and now in the auditorium. Being at that awkward middle school age, students need an ironclad knight to maintain order...see NC Sue!

Wordless Wednesday - Bramble 'n Blue

Spring is finally springing as the birds, bumblebees and squirrels in motion signify seasonal change. Here is one bluejay not frolicking, perhaps pensively looking up at the photographer - and speaking no words which fits NC Sue's WW meme perfectly...

Wordless Wednesday - Take Four

Let's just say the written word is mostly wordless here. But not the sung word! This is Take Four, an a cappella singing group in that performed at the recent Irish flag raising in Ansonia (CT). And later, at a restaurant that a corned beef lunch provided by the city. Lots of green and cool tunes on a beautiful day! See NC Sue for more...

Worded Wednesday - The elusive cardinal

Not all birds wing south for the Winter, especially this cardinal. Our daughter caught this fellow through a window with a simple point-and-shoot camera. Nice catch, beautiful bird...see NC Sue for more!

Wordless Wednesday - Snowy Sunset

Last Friday it snowed, but the snow ended and the sun arrived just before sunset. And the bold sunset added a remarkable set of shadows to the mulberry tree in our front yard. I am not a fan of winter but this is a stylish look at the season...See NC Sue for more WW

Wordless Wednesdays - Aglow

Just a basic and austere Congregational church dots many New England town greens. The Puritans preferred bland to colorful. This church in Shelton CT does allow for a bit of color as the sunset filters through stained glass upstairs. Thus we see a hint of warmth in this winter view...See more WW at NC Sue

Wordless Wednesday - The difference a day makes

We had the 'pleasure' if you will, of a snowy Saturday. Happily, although we live a mere 85 miles (137 km) north of Midtown Manhattan in New York City, we received a mere 10 in (20 cm) of snow, much less than they did. Happily :) The top view was Saturday afternoon, the bottom view Sunday Morning. The sunny morn nicely offset the snowy Saturday...See NC Sue for more WW!
